Bright Green or Pale Green?

•September 1, 2009 • Leave a Comment

CB034308A lot has been said in the last thirty years about the environment, Scientists have pondered for decades, from pollution to global warming.

what is the reality of environmentalists and how practical are Human Beings on real reduction of pollution? How many people is willing to stop certain activities to save a whale? Are we spoiled to the point of no return? can a majority really prescind of the items of daily life? or at least of those that cause pollution? can we sacrifice (at least a sufficient number of us) our way of life?

Your comments are welcome, I posed these questions as a starting point of how environmentally conscious people sees these challenges.

Smog-Eating Paint – TIME’s Best Inventions of 2008 – TIME

•August 20, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Take ordinary cement paint. Mix in an agent called a photo-catalyzer (titanium dioxide, if you really want to know), which speeds up the natural process that breaks down smog into its component parts. Now start painting things with the stuff. That’s what they’re doing in  Italy and accross Europe. The smog-eating cement paint is called Sparks of Genius Photo-Catalytic Paint, an Italian firm  spent 10 years developing it. Now there’s a busy street in Italy that’s covered with it, and  there is a claim that it has reduced nitric oxides in the area by as much as 60%.

Is our infraestructure environmentally active?

•August 20, 2009 • Leave a Comment

From the Plains to the Swamps, everything seems to be cooperating actively to keep our environment safe, however the use of man-made materials has not reached the point of an active approach as to the environment.

For environmentalists it has been sufficient to press construction companies and manufacturers of building materials to simply comply with one premise: “do not pollute or pollute to the minimum that is safe”, it has been hard to pursue this and to achieve this passive approach.

Would not be wonderful that products could actually convert harmful pollutants in the Air? That Blenders or Walls could actually act like complete forests? Have you Imagined a city made of concrete that actually cleans the environment and at the same time cleans itself through a chemical process that do not harm Humans and the Planet?

Ecogreen-Plus is perhaps the first product ever invented that has that characteristic, it actually and effectively reduces pollution through a Photocatalytic reaction with UV rays. Many products will arrive in the future, apparently the technology is present to have a toaster that actually cleans itself and that filters bacteria and pollution at the same time.

Environmentalists will have to re-think the old approach and press companies to create new products that are actively cleaning the environment, Ecogreen-Plus with TX-Active patented technology has been active for more than five years in Europe and Now for the first time is being manufactured here in the United States.

Can this be the best evidence that Human Ingenuity will actually take us to the next level in environmental issues? can we actually clean our cities, highways and infraestructure to the point of cleaning it while we enjoy the benefits of using it?

Scientist around the World keep working on new technologies, but many of them will have to change their approach and look for active solutions when they create a product, being passive as to the environment is not an option anymore for companies to appease to those that now are demanding products that reduce pollution.

Environmentally active products will change the shape and functionality of our cities, but in the end we will have the chance to a more certain future.

Recently arrival to the United States, anti-pollution, anti-bacterial, anti-graffiti, self-cleaning, anti-mold, anti-corrosion, self-insulated, energy-saver, 0 VOC, not only repels pollution it eliminates it through a photo-catalytic UV ray reaction.

The new trend for environmentally active products

•August 19, 2009 • Leave a Comment

In the next decade the new trend apparently will be products that are actively cleaning or de-polluting the environment. For the last 30 years most technological advances were passive in reference to the environment, meaning that products like electronics and building materials were not contributing to pollution, but not actively reducing it.

New technologies that have been developed in the last five years have forced companies to create and manufacture products that eliminate or reduce pollution, is this trend likely to continue?

Companies around the world are sensing this new trend, and are pro-actively moving forward into the new “green” trend of active products, one of them Continue reading ‘The new trend for environmentally active products’
